There are opportunities for everyone (pre-med or not) to get involved with Synapse!
We need passionate people to help connect and positively influence growth in our community. Whether you are a Washington University student just itching to mobilize your learning or a community member who wants to help out, Synapse has a place for you!
Merging academics and service to provide exciting opportunities related to neuroscience, our members lead a unique range of volunteer activities. Synapse outreach programs provide dynamic teaching programs, support rehabilitation classes for seniors with Parkinson’s disease through , and provides sports therapy for children and young adults with Cerebral Palsy.

Synapse members can also easily be connected with a WashU School of Medicine neurologist and neurosurgeon mentors to observe medical neuroscience in practice. No matter who you are, where you come from, or what your future holds, Synapse has ways for you to get involved. It’s fun, easy, and takes no prior experience! You can access the shadowing program page by clicking here for more information.
To get involved, visit our booth at the Activities Fair, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or talk to any of our executive board officers! Contact us today to see how you can help make a difference in St. Louis!
