Cerebral Palsy Sports Rehabilitation (CPSR)

The term Cerebral Palsy describes a number of motor disorders affecting the brain that cause disability in human development. The St. Louis Children’s Hospital’s CPSR program provides children with Cerebral Palsy opportunities to experience sports in a whole new dimension. The program aims to offer a wide variety of sports options that help keep individuals with CP active for life. Importantly, CPSR helps children with CP embrace the concept that health and physical fitness are possible and necessary in order to maximize independence. Volunteers provide assistance to teachers and children in a number of rehabilitation classes, including year-long dance and martial arts classes as well as basketball and swim classes.
