With many students expressing interest in contemporary or fundamental neuroscience research, Synapse Undergraduate Journal Club provides a program where student-led presentations over scientific articles published in professional journals are given to facilitate group discussion and understanding of important contemporary concepts within the field. With input from professors and peers, students that present learn to become comfortable with presenting scientific literature to an audience. Furthermore, as the program encourages audience participation, the attendees of the discussion can both weigh in with answers or questions that supplement the presentation and build meaningful relationships with others who share a passion for neuroscience and research.
